Teeth whitening is best suited for people who have healthy, un-restored teeth - this means no fillings - and strong healthy gums. Patients that have yellower tones to their teeth typically respond with the best, most visibly dramatic results; however because the smile is such an important feature on the face, teeth whitening should be kept in the consideration set for a wide variety of people and tooth colors.  Teeth whitening is, however, not recommended for everyone.  To find out if teeth whitening is right for you, you should make an appointment with a trusted dentist.

Teeth Whitening: What is it?

Dr. Boehly's office uses bleaching techniques to brighten teeth that are discolored or stained.  Whitening your teeth may be done completely in our dental office or you may also acquire a system from Dr. Boehly's team to use at home.  Teeth whitening with Dr. Boehly's team is a safe, effective and fast procedure.  

Zoom Teeth Whitening

Dr. Boehly and her staff have been trained on and have read extensively about the latest options available for teeth whitening.   Dr. Boehly and her team use Zoom whitening for their in-office teeth whitening system. The typical Zoom procedure takes about 90 minutes in the office, beginning with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums leaving only your teeth exposed. Dr Boehly then applies the Zoom tooth whitening gel for a number of intervals from 10-15 minutes each.  You then leave the office with a brighter, whiter smile!

Dr. Boehly's team also offers a take-home kit for whitening your teeth that includes customized trays to fit your mouth and a tooth bleaching gel kit. You take the bleach home with you and apply for one hour a day for up to two weeks. After the intial whitening treatment you can use it as often as you like to reach the results you are looking for and to maintain your new sparkling white smile!

Tetracyline Stained Teeth

Tetracyline stained teeth can also be whitened.  In these cases, the take-home materials are highly recommended, and it takes from one to six months to get your teeth whitened to favorable measures.
